First Lady Susan Corbett Encourages Parents to Talk to Kids about Underage Drinking
 
Parents have the power to stop underage drinking by talking with their children, Pennsylvania First Lady Susan Corbett said today at Garnet Valley High School in Delaware County. The First Lady attended the Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) Power of Parents workshop to urge parents to talk with their children about the dangers of underage drinking. Today's event coincides with the school's Junior Prom.

Secretary of Commonwealth Announces Simplified Process for Obtaining Voter ID, Reminds Voters Photo ID Not Required for April 24 Primary
 
Secretary of the Commonwealth Carol Aichele today announced a simplified process for many voters, especially senior citizens with expired driver's licenses, to obtain a non-driver license photo ID if they need one to vote under Pennsylvania's new Voter ID law.

International luxury car theft ring smashed in Philadelphia area; 26 suspects linked to $2.3 million in stolen vehicle
 
Attorney General Linda Kelly and Pennsylvania State Police Commissioner Frank Noonan today announced a series of arrests in Pennsylvania, New York and Maryland involving suspects linked to an international car theft ring operating in the greater Philadelphia area.

Governor Corbett Ceremonially Signs Small Games of Chance Bill
 
Governor Tom Corbett ceremonially signed House Bill 169, a bill to help eligible organizations to raise money for charitable causes by increasing prize limits for small games of chance. Today's event was held at an American Legion post in Cumberland County. The bill, originally signed on Feb. 2, increased the individual prize limit from $500 to $1,000, and a group may award up to $25,000 in prizes a week. Club licensees are also now permitted to use up to 30 percent of proceeds from small games of chance for operational expenses.

Governor Corbett Ceremonially Signs Small Games of Chance Bill in Cumberland County
 
The measure, now Act 2 of 2012, updated several measures within the Local Option Small Games of Chance Act, including prize payout limits. It applies only to registered eligible organizations, including a charitable, religious, fraternal or veterans' organizations, clubs, or civic and service associations.
