Governor Corbett, Acting Secretary of Education Recognize Academic Achievement of Three Schools in Derry Township School District Pennsylvania public schools with a score of 90 or higher to receive award
 
Hershey - Gov. Tom Corbett today presented the Governor's Award for Excellence in Academics to three schools in Derry Township School District, Dauphin County. Hershey Middle School, Hershey High School and Hershey Intermediate Elementary School all were awarded a banner for their academic performance.

Governor Corbett Urges Pennsylvanians to Use Caution during Forecasted Extreme Cold Weather
 
Harrisburg - Governor Tom Corbett today urged citizens to be prepared for the extreme cold weather forecasted for mid-week. "With overnight lows expected to range from the negative teens to near zero, Pennsylvania residents in parts of the state will see some of the coldest temperatures in nearly two decades," Corbett said. "Although we are fortunate that this cold snap will be brief, it is important to know that low temperatures such as those forecasted, combined with bitter cold wind chills will be dangerous.

Pa. Turnpike Reminds Motorists of Toll Increase Starting Sunday
 
The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission (PTC) reminds motorists that toll rates will increase Jan. 5 by 12 percent for cash customers and 2 percent for E-ZPass customers. The new rates take effect at 12:01 a.m. this Sunday. With the increase, E-ZPass customers who now see about a 25-percent savings on tolls will save at least 35 percent compared to cash.
