Wolf Administration Seeks to Improve Diverse and Small Business Participation in State Contracting Opportunities, Overall Economy
 
Governor Wolf continued the 'Government that Works' tour by signing an executive order and touring PAP Technologies in Lancaster. The Executive Order on Diversity, Inclusion and Small Business Opportunities in Pennsylvania is a new executive order designed to correct the course of the Commonwealth with respect to state contracting opportunities for small diverse businesses.

PA Turnpike Stages Reenactment Of Opening Night 1940 on 75th Anniversary Eve
 
Harrisburg - The PA Turnpike Commission held a reenactment of the toll road's 1940 opening night at 7 p.m. at the Turnpike's Carlisle Interchange (#226) in Cumberland County. The event was held to commemorate the 75th Anniversary of the opening of the Pennsylvania Turnpike, which occurred shortly after midnight on Oct. 1, 1940.

Insurance Department Alerts Consumers to Unlawful Practice of 'Price Optimization' by Insurance Companies
 
Governor Tom Wolf joined Insurance Commissioner Teresa Miller today in alerting consumers that the Insurance Department will continue to oppose a practice known in the industry as 'price optimization', in which sophisticated pricing tools are used to charge different premiums to policyholders who present essentially the same risk to the insurer, with the price differences based on whether or not a particular policyholder is likely to shop around for less expensive coverage.

Pa. Turnpike Celebrates Final Service Plaza Makeover with Valley Forge Ribbon Cutting
 
The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission (PTC) announced that another service plaza has been renovated and reopened for business. A ribbon-cutting event in Chester County today not only commemorated the reopening of the Valley Forge Service Plaza, it also marked the completion of the last of 17 Turnpike rest stops to be modernized under a public-private partnership begun nearly a decade ago.
