Governor Rendell: December Collections Push State Revenues to $191.2 Million Above-Estimate at Halfway Point of Fiscal Year

Pennsylvania Achieves Milestone in Weatherizing Homes; More Training Available for Green Energy Jobs
 
Governor Edward G. Rendell today announced that Pennsylvania is more than halfway toward its goal to help nearly 30,000 low-income homeowners improve their energy efficiency and reduce costs. Training will help prepare 1,000 more weatherization installers, crew chiefs and auditors across the state in the coming year.

Gov.-elect Corbett names members of his transition team
 
Gov.-elect Tom Corbett today announced the leadership of his transition team, naming Christine Toretti, Jack Barbour and Bill Sasso as co-chairs. Corbett also named Leslie Gromis-Baker and Tom Paese as co-directors of the transition. Charles Kopp has been named as the transition's legal counsel. Additionally, Corbett named Brian Nutt as transition chief of staff and Kevin Harley as transition spokesman.

Department of State: More Than 8.4 Million Pennsylvanians Registered to Vote on Nov. 2
 
A total of 8,478,509 Pennsylvanians are registered to vote at one of the state's more than 9,200 precincts in the General Election on Nov. 2, Secretary of the Commonwealth Basil L. Merenda announced today.
