Gov. Wolf Announces Expanded PennDOT Technology Pilot to Track Over 700 Plow Trucks
 
Harrisburg, PA - This winter season, more than 700 plow trucks covering interstates and expressways statewide will be outfitted with technology to improve location and operations information through a Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) pilot program, Governor Tom Wolf announced today.

HARRISBURG - Auditor General Eugene DePasquale said his recent performance audits of the Pennsylvania Department of Education show the department did not provide adequate assistance to 561 academically challenged schools with 310,000 students enrolled.

PA Turnpike Stages Reenactment Of Opening Night 1940 on 75th Anniversary Eve
 
Harrisburg - The PA Turnpike Commission held a reenactment of the toll road's 1940 opening night at 7 p.m. at the Turnpike's Carlisle Interchange (#226) in Cumberland County. The event was held to commemorate the 75th Anniversary of the opening of the Pennsylvania Turnpike, which occurred shortly after midnight on Oct. 1, 1940.

Auditor General DePasquale Says School Districts, IUs Have Borrowed More than $346 Million Because of State Budget Impasse
 
Auditor General Eugene DePasquale today said that through September, the prolonged state budget impasse forced at least 17 school districts and two intermediate units to borrow more than $346 million to meet expenses and keep classrooms open. Interest and fees on those borrowed education dollars could reach $11.2 million.

State Police Announces 83 New Troopers
 
Harrisburg, PA -The Pennsylvania State Police announced that 83men and women graduated from the State Police Academy today and were assigned to troops across the commonwealth .Governor Tom Wolfspoke at the ceremony, which was held at Bishop McDevitt High School, along with State Police Acting Commissioner Tyree C. Blocker. Cadet Eric J. Smithfrom Littlestown, Adams County spoke on behalf of the cadet class.
