Governor Corbett Signs Life-Saving Legislation, Approves Recommendations to Combat Pennsylvania's Heroin and Opioid Crisis
 
Johnstown - Governor Tom Corbett was joined today by Senator Dominic Pileggi (R-Delaware) on the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown campus to sign into law life-saving legislation that will help to reverse heroin overdoses in Pennsylvania. At the event, he also approved recommendations from a working group established in May that will improve the state's response to the growing heroin and opioid addiction and overdose crisis.

Governor Corbett Joins PPG Industries in Pittsburgh, Opening New Regional Headquarters for Architectural Coatings Business to Support More Than 500 Jobs
 
Pittsburgh - Continuing to advance his JOBS1stPA initiative, Governor Tom Corbett today joined PPG Industries to open a regional headquarters for its architectural coatings business in the U.S., Canada and Puerto Rico. The facility is located in Cranberry Township, Butler County and is expected to accommodate approximately 550 employees.

PA Preferred Milk Set to Benefit Western Pennsylvanians through Innovative Food Bank Distribution Program
 
Pittsburgh - Agriculture Secretary George Greig today unveiled a pioneering regional PA Preferred milk distribution program that will meet the needs of western Pennsylvanians. Greig joined partners from the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank, Schneider's Dairy and representatives from the Mid-Atlantic Dairy Association and Pennsylvania Dairy Promotion Program at the food bank in Dusquene, Allegheny County, which will distribute the milk to its affiliates across western Pennsylvania. This program will help 55,000 people served by the food bank.

Corbett Administration Announces the Release of Economic Growth Initiative Grant to Glatfelter for Natural Gas Conversion Project in York County
 
Harrisburg - Governor Tom Corbett today announced the award of a $5-million Economic Growth Initiative Grant and $3-million Alternative and Clean Energy Grant to Glatfelter to support the conversion of the company's Spring Grove, York County mill to use natural gas to fuel its boilers.

Treasury Creates $1.5 Billion Credit Line to Su stain State Operations
 
Harrisburg - Responding to a request from the administration, Pennsylvania Treasurer Rob McCord, in consultation with Auditor General Eugene DePasquale, has extended a $1.5 billion line of credit to the commonwealth so it can cope with a General F und cash balance that plunged below zero earlier this week. The administration borrowed $700 million against that line of credit on Monday
