Governor Tom Corbett today ceremonially signed Senate Bill 5, which provides $4 million in the 2013-14 state budget to fund community health centers and additional medical services in rural and underserved areas of the state.

Pennsylvania youth are invited to participate in the 2013 Lucky Dog Art Contest, which aims to illustrate why dogs are man's best friend. The canine themed art contest is part of Second Sundays at the Governor's Residence, a series of free events scheduled every second Sunday from June through Sept. Each event highlights a specific theme and features outdoor, family-friendly activities.

Pennsylvania Turnpike Celebrates Start of Turnpike/I-95 Interchange Project
 
Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission CEO Mark Compton joined Governor Tom Corbett at the Turnpike's Trevose Maintenance Facility in Bensalem to officially kickoff the start of the $500 million Stage 1 of the project to connect the Pa. Turnpike to Interstate 95, finally completing the nation's original Interstate Highway System and improving travel through the Mid-Atlantic.

Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission Announces 2014 Toll Increase Cash tolls set to increase 12 percent, E-ZPass 2 percent on Jan. 5 2014.
 
The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission (PTC) has approved a 2014 toll-rate increase of 2 percent for E-ZPass customers and 12 percent for cash customers. The increase is largely needed to allow the PTC to meet its funding obligation to the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania under a 2007 state law known as Act 44.

Corbett's third pro-growth budget helps our children receive the best education possible, helps those who need it most, and helps employers grow jobs - without raising taxes for working families. Surrounded by members of the legislature, Corbett signed the (B)$28.375 budget Sunday evening in the Governor's Reception Room.
