ADVISORY - PHILADELPHIA - Governor Shapiro to Announce State Action to Support Food Assistance After the Trump Administration Freezes November SNAP Payments for Nearly Two Million Pennsylvanians

Governor Josh Shapiro will announce new steps his Administration is taking to support Pennsylvania's charitable food network after the Trump Administration decided to freeze November SNAP payments amid the ongoing federal government shutdown.

Earlier this week, the Governor joined 24 other states and the District of Columbia in suing the Trump Administration for unlawfully suspending Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) payments and refusing to use billions in Congressionally-approved contingency funds to continue SNAP during the shutdown and ensure 42 million Americans - including nearly two million Pennsylvanians - are fed.
