ADVISORY - MONTGOMERY COUNTY - Shapiro Administration Invites Pennsylvanians to Support Service Members by Donating Christmas Trees through 'Trees for Troops'

Agriculture Secretary Russell Redding, First Lady Lori Shapiro, and Army Maj. Gen. Michael E. Wegscheider, deputy adjutant general, will kick off Pennsylvania's participation in the national Trees for Troops campaign. The event will celebrate the start of this year's effort to deliver fresh, Pennsylvania-grown Christmas trees to U.S. service members and their families.

Trees for Troops is a nationwide program that provides free, farm-grown Christmas trees and personal holiday messages to members of the armed forces through donations, sponsorships, grants, and thousands of volunteer hours. Since its launch in 2005, the program has delivered more than 309,000 Christmas trees to military families and deployed service members, offering a meaningful reminder of home at bases across the country and around the world.
