Agriculture Secretary Russell Redding will announce recipients of grants totaling $5.5 million to support projects to improve water quality and sustain the economic and environmental health of farms throughout the region and Chesapeake Bay watershed. Funded projects, selected for their potential to generate farm income and improve water and soil quality, were selected by Pennsylvania's newly appointed Pennsylvania Sustainable Agriculture Board. Grants will be announced at a Manheim-based John Deere farm equipment dealer, along with a demonstration of cutting-edge precision agriculture technology to be used in a funded project. Preceding the grant announcement, media are also invited to tour a nearby Marietta, Lancaster County farm's silvopasture project along with board members.
