ADVISORY - YORK COUNTY - Shapiro Administration Kicks Off DCNR America250PA GeoTrail

Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) Secretary Cindy Adams Dunn will launch the DCNR America250PA GeoTrail at Codorus State Park in York County. The event will open with a brief program demonstrating how to locate a geocache, followed by remarks.

Created in honor of America's 250th, the GeoTrail guides visitors to 25 state parks, where themed geocaches share stories from Pennsylvania's past through a technology driven scavenger hunt.

Participants use coordinates from DCNR's website on any GPS-enabled device to search for hidden caches along state park trails. Each park features a cache highlighting a unique piece of Pennsylvania history. Those who find all 25 caches will receive a commemorative completion coin.

The DCNR America250PA GeoTrail launches Saturday, April 11, and runs through March 2028.
