ADVISORY - BUCKS COUNTY - Shapiro Administration to Kick off National Apprenticeship Week with PA Registered Apprenticeship & Pre-Apprenticeship Awards Celebration

The Pennsylvania Department of Labor & Industry (L&I) will host its annual PA Registered Apprenticeship and Pre-Apprenticeship Awards, with L&I Secretary Nancy A. Walker delivering remarks.

The celebration, happening at the start of National Apprenticeship Week (NAW), will highlight the importance and role of registered apprenticeship and pre-apprenticeship programs in Governor Josh Shapiro's workforce development strategy, while recognizing the Pennsylvania programs and participants doing outstanding work in the space.

Under Governor Shapiro's leadership over the past three years, the Commonwealth has increased funding for apprenticeships and career and technical education from $118 million to $183 million - a nearly 50% increase - and the Governor's proposed 2026-27 budget builds on this progress by investing an additional $18 million.
