Governor Tom Wolf provided an update on the state’s commitment to protecting vulnerable populations, first announced when he signed an executive order in July. Following that announcement that included the creation of his Council on Reform, the council delivered a list of recommendations to him on November 1. Since that time, the governor has reviewed the recommendations and they have been presented for public comment. That public comment period ends today."Before the ink was dry on my executive order, the council was meeting to discuss ways we can improve how to serve and protect vulnerable Pennsylvanians," said Gov. Wolf. "They worked diligently over three months and delivered recommendations to ensure every human being is treated like a human being. The council engaged stakeholders, legislators, the public, and state agencies. They also tapped into the expertise of advisory bodies who continue to work tirelessly on these issues."The council’s work resulted in multiple recommendations with two themes: empowering and supporting the workforce, and ensuring vulnerable populations have access to the services they deserve.
