Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) Secretary Rick Siger announced the approval of $36 million through the Neighborhood Assistance Program(NAP) to assist low-income individuals and improve distressed areas in Pennsylvania communities. NAP's funding was doubled in Governor Josh Shapiro's bipartisan 2024-25 state budget from $36 million to $72 million, allowing for the opening of a second round of applications from September 9, 2024, through October 25, 2024. Project awards for the second round of funding are expected to be announced later this year. "The Shapiro Administration is committed to investing to strengthen Pennsylvania's communities.
